If you ever get into Killeen, there's a gun shop here that I've heard lots of real good things about. Let me know.

Don't have any for sale at the moment but I have a lot of gun buddies, I will ask around. Don't bother with a 9mm. The 45 auto has a 93% one shot incapacitation rate in the center mass, and thats with 230gr FMJ's! If incapacitating or killing someone quickly is not a priority then go with the 9, it's cheaper to shoot.

If you end up with a 45 lets go out to the range and I will handload you some nasty super-sonic shit.

I have a 416 Rigby that I load with 400gr Hornaday RN Interlocks with 110 grs of H-4831. I chronographed this load at 2690 fps and it generates about 6500 ft-lbs of energy at the muzzle. The price of that kind of power is 110 ft-lbs of horrendous recoil (no pussy muzzle breaks for me). With this load the rifle is coming back into your shoulder at 21 feet per second. Think about that. In comparison a 30-06 has about 25 ft-lbs of recoil and a 12 mag has 30-35 ft-lbs of recoil. Shooting it from a bench rest is for He-Men only. Don't care how big and bad you think you are, this rifle will make a coward out of just about anyone. I have built up a tolerance to be able to shoot 15 rounds accurately in one range session.

I will stop now Kasey, sorry for the hi-jack. Lets plan a range session sometime after you get your pistol.

You win. I was just joking about the whole "bring it on" thing.......my bad.

I have to admit that the hardest recoiling weapon I've shot so far is my uncle's T/C chambered in .300 WinMag. No recoil pad.....just pure fiberglass stock hitting the shoulder pocket. I thought the fucking thing ripped my arm off, not to mention gave me a splitting headache from the scope. I've heard nothing bad about the .416.......but I think I'll take a pass, LOL.

And Jesus, you know a fuckton about guns, man. I actually used your stat about the .45 today at work, and was mind-boggling people. While I'm on the subject, what's the difference in one-shot incapacitation (using solely FMJ) between the .45, .44 Mag, and .357??

I have to admit that after shooting my Glock 27 (.40), I've become a big fan of the .40 Smith round.......but I'm always interested in more.

I could write a book here but I will try to give you the short answer. the 357 loaded with 125gr JHP has a slightly higher rate but at a cost. More recoil which translates into a longer recovery time which can be a problem in the case of a misplaced shot or multiple targets. Plus 125's out of a 357 product a blinding muzzle flash (bad in a low light situation).

44mag. Lots of power and lots of recoil For self defense the good 'ol Winchester 175 gr Silver tip has been used for this purpose. There are now better bullets out there but the 44 has several draw backs. The pistols are generally beefy and heavy. Because of the power the bullets tend to zip through the person and end up dumping all of their energy in your wall or worse in your neighbors wall or even worse than that, in your neighbor.

I say 45. Controllable, just the right penetration, deadly and concealable.

Bought 2 other guns and decided to sell this one. It's the newest in the taurus line. Perfect for concealment, lightweight, and very easy to use and clean. I bought it on January 13, 2010 But it is not the one I really wanted. I paid $379.00 plus tax for it. The range anywhere from $369 - $439 depending on where you get it. I comes with 2 magazines and the manual.
the model is a Taurus PT 709 SLIM 9MM hold 7 plus one in the chamber. Looking to get $350.00 for it or very close to that.
